The participationin that I propose for an embodied fiction is **hybrid, federated, and layered**. I've previously called this form of performance or workshop Conversations Across Space.
In terms of engagement and participation there are three main structural components and there is one overriding method of engagment. Taken together we can get a clear picture of who we are able to engage.
Next there is the question of given the affordances that a federated and hybrid engagment platform provides, who specifically do we choose to engage?
# Intergenerational Audience We aim to focus on an intergenerational audience, with young people from teens to university graduates, twinning, interviewing, reverse mentoring the generation that founded the internet, and have seen the evolution of time.
Time travel is a major theme, na dinterviewing people and projects from the dawn of the internet, and further into the deep past is for us a grounding in the science fiction we write and uitlise as a design methodology.
# Who Participates?
100% Everyone. Our method takes the dream of a Global Citizen Assembly and brings it to life - embodies it. We use the citizen assembly methodology to assemble diverse performance groups using sortition and stratified selection, but we do this through embodied story telling.
Our method is to use the perfomative algorhythm of Rimini Protokol, to create a global network of micro-assemblies, to write together, research together, deliberate, perform, imagine and finally convene a global assembly we call the Hitchhikers' Assembly or Space Congress.
